About Linda & Greg . . .
Linda Howley has been dancing lindy hop since 1998 when she became
interested due to her love for big band music. Living in New York
City, there was no lack of the wonderful live music and she was able
to dance to some of the best big bands and musicians around. She
performed for a short while with Manhattan's Grit Grinders and was a
part of the NYC Rueda group. She studied with some of the best
instructors such as Janice Wilson, Matt Bedell, Bill Borgida, Steven
and Virginie and took a few classes offered by the late Frankie
Manning. Linda traveled throughout the US taking workshops including
Swing Out New Hampshire where she met her husband, Greg. Greg Howley
also started dancing in 1998. He has taught classes and workshops
throughout New England, and has performed alongside the bands Big Bad
Voodoo Daddy and The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, at the Connecticut
Jazzfest, and at the opening to the Special Olympics in New Haven,
Connecticut. In 2001, he took third place in the National Atlantic
Dance Championships Open Lindy Hop Jack & Jill competition.
