Chrarity Fly Fishing Event, 10 celebrities attend, DInner, Auctions, Open to Public

| This is the second annual Celebrity Fly Fishing event presented by the Saldia Rotary Club to benefit community non-profits, and provide scholarships for local High School Seniors. In 2008 over $30,000 was raised by this event. Friday Night is the Public Dinner and Auctions. Ten celebrities from Sports, Entertainment, Politics, and Media attend the event. The chance to fish with each celebrity on Saturday is auctioned. In 2008 Gov. Bill Ritter, Bronco Alum Karl Mecklinberg, and Dave Preston, Artist Eldridge Hardy, and Ernie Bjorkman- Channel 2 News, were among the celebrities attending. Saturday,is the all day fishing event, when the winners of the celebrity auctions, enjoy an all day float fishing trip on the Arkansas, with their guide and celebrity. After a day of fishing,sponsors, guides, winners, and celebrities are invited to a private reception. Silent auctions include custom bamboo rods, top end rods and reels, fly fishing clothing and art work.
