The Annual Picnic of the League of Women Voters of Chaffee County will be on Monday, August 10, beginning at 5:00, at a private home north of Buena Vista. The cost is $5.00 per person. The picnic is open to members, their guests, and community members interested in joining our league. Special guests and speakers will be state senator Gail Schwartz and state representative Jim Massey. They will fill us in on the state of the state, what has been done this last session, and what will come up next session.
Former County Commissioner Jim Osborne, League member, will officiate at the grill.
All persons of voting age, men and women, are invited to join LWV. Participation in LWV is a way to become better informed about the issues and candidates in today’s political universe, and to help others become better informed as well.
